State Representative Debbie Riddle Sees Partial Victory In Supreme Court’s Decision On Arizona’s Bill SB 1070 Dealing With Illegal Immigration

State Representative Debbie Riddle (R- Houston) sees a partial victory in the Supreme Court’s decision in the Arizona Illegal Immigration law because it upheld the most controversial part of the law which allowed police officers to check a person’s immigration status while stopping them for another violation.

Riddle said, “The real victory will come when our borders are secure. The real victory will come when my home town, Houston, is no longer considered the command and control center for the violent Mexican drug cartels. The real victory will come when our federal government does what is right by enforcing our present immigration laws, securing our borders, and stop making immigration policy based on political expediency.”

Riddle continues, “We will continue our discussion with law enforcement agencies and the office of the Attorney General in regards to potential legislation for the 83rd legislative session.”
